MOVING SALE!

November 3rd, 2015

Hello Friends and Patrons!

Late November we will be moving from our present location in Lewes to Five Points Square, Crossing Ave. (behind the new Wahlgreens). There will be plenty of parking and tall ceilings to display our beautiful carpets! Everything in the store will be discounted in hopes that our move will be light.

In early December, our second location in historic Milford will open. We have been renovating the building and are excited about the mid state location. The 1890s saw 27 S. Walnut Street utilized as a carpet and furniture store……….the building is going back to its roots! A grand opening will be announced  early spring or late winter.27 S.Wal..

25th Anniversary Sale!!!

November 24th, 2013

Josephine Keir Ltd. At Home Celebrates 25 years of business on Delmarva. 27 S. Walnut
Fall of 1988, Milly (Josephine Keir) and Huno Pedersen with twins Gordon and Maggie, moved to Lewes on a full time basis. After renovating the Old Firehouse and jail (prior to the permanent move from College Park, MD) they opened a fine art and antique business in the firehouse which later would morph into offering unique artisan made carpets as well. The current location at 102 Savannah Road in the Graves building is the fifth location in 25 years.

Closing out this year will see a second location to open in Milford in the historic business district on 27 South Walnut. That building is under renovation and has historic meaning for the city, dating back to the 1860s. A picture taken before the turn of the century shows the building with signage “Carpets and Furniture”. This a building headed back to its roots. The second store will be filled with fine home furnishing, a design center, fine art gallery and the finest selection of oriental, tribal and contemporary carpets.

Since the anticipated opening of the second store is behind schedule JKLtd. At Home has decided to end the year with the Anniversary Sale lasting until December 31. We so appreciate our customers’ support throughout the years!

Fabulous Furniture, Accessories and Design…a winning combination!

May 7th, 2013

If you have not been to our shop in Lewes lately, stop in and see the new additions of Lee, Pearson and McKinley Leather sofas, chairs and ottomans. Along with the furniture, we have acquired more wonderful Chinese Export pieces, from large chargers to 24 inch tall jars. Adding to the mix is hand forged iron furniture with a very European look, made in the USA; everything from chairs to planters and small tables.

Need a quick hostess or birthday gift? Check out our collection of NEST FRAGRANCES soy candles, beautifully boxed for sophisticated presentation (no, you do not have to go to Saks or Nieman Marcus for your candles).

We have been working on several design projects in Delaware and in DC. Come back to the blog (News & Updates) for pictures soon to be posted.

DESIGNER SHOW HOUSE in Rehoboth

March 19th, 2012

Save The Date!   Friday through Sunday

April 20-22, 27-29 and May 4-6.

Sponsored by the Village Improvement Association, A 1920s vintage Rehoboth Beach house (10 Fourth Street)  will be transformed into an updated and smart home for the modern family through the expertise of local and regional interior and landscape designers from Rehoboth, Baltimore, Washington DC, and New York. Josephine Keir and Taylor Wells are working on the Media/Game Room on the second floor.

Media/Game Room:  Josephine Keir Ltd. At Home and Taylor Wells Design

The media room  lends itself to multiple functions: watching tv and board or card games taking place within the same area. A large, comfortable seating area allows  for viewing or conversation with friends in an area far away from the rest of the activities in the house.

Inspiration: The inspiration came from the blue skies, sea grass on the dunes, and the bleached boardwalks of Rehoboth.  We achieved this with a light “sky blue “ ceiling, woven grass cloth walls and bleached pine floors.  The rich colors of a hand woven Oriental rug, comfortable furnishings and beach/nautical inspired accessories complete the room.

Don’t Miss:  The sound proofing of the media room was achieved by the sound absorbent grass cloth walls, the wool Oriental rug, draperies and cotton fabric on the upholstered furniture.  The lighting/media is controlled by a master system customized for this space.  A power shade will block out the sunlight while watching movies and television  or playing video games.
